Right now the optoma UHD38 is significantly cheaper than the 5050ub (what I have always heard is the king of this price range) It is also much newer.

Sep 19, 2023 · A 4000 ANSI Lumen Projector is too much for a 100" Screen. A 2000 ANSI Lumen Projector is way to less for a 150" Screen. You COULD use f.e. a 1.5 Gain Screen (another "Extreme") to improve the Brightness by roughly 50% but this will lower the Picture Quality.

Jun 9, 2021 · Colors, especially reds, definitely seem a bit desaturated though. I too implemented the Projector Central settings, and they helped a bit, but am looking to punch them up a bit more. Also, HDR games seem to vary quite a bit in terms of finding the right contrast balance to keep things from getting washed out.

It’s one of the reasons why I encourage everyone to share how their projector looks in real life. Not everyone has an ideal and completely 100% light controlled room.

BenQ HT2050A estimated brightness too low - Reddit
Jun 16, 2021 · I was just about to pull the trigger on the BenQ HT2050A due to the good reviews, but on projector central's calculator, for a 200" screen and the standard throw distance, I'm only getting around 9 fL image brightness according to "projector central's estimate". Switching to "manufacturer's spec" gives me 18 fL which should be fine.
