Two Vincent van Gogh “Sunflowers” masterpieces were damaged by soup-tossing climate protesters in London Friday — after eco-activists were sentenced for using the same tactic two years

A judge said he hoped to deter protests when he handed down lengthy terms for the two activists, who dumped soup on the painting in 2022. Later that day, activists did it again.

Their sentences are the latest in a string of similar punishments handed to climate activists for engaging in disruptive protests against the use of fossil fuels.
