At 6:36 p.m. on Friday, the National Weather Service released an updated severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 7 p.m. The warning is for Clay, Caldwell, Clinton and Ray counties.

The warning was in place for Rutherford County. "The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and has exited the warned area. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire," says the NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC. The warning is in effect until 5:45 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm warning was released by the NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC on Friday at 3:06 p.m. in effect until 4 p.m. for McDowell and Mitchell counties.
