LOS ANGELES — The San Jose Sharks selected goalie Joshua Ravensbergen with the 30th overall selection at the NHL Draft on Friday at the Peacock Theater. The Sharks acquired the first-round pick from Dallas as part of a February trade that sent forward Mikael Granlund and defenseman Cody Ceci to the Stars.

It’s a departure from the 2020 draft, in which only two of the nine players the Sharks drafted were taller than 5-foot-11 — 6-foot-4 forward Brandon Coe in the fourth round and 6-foot winger Timofey Spitserov in the seventh round.

Michael Misa became the highest-drafted Saginaw Spirt in NHL history Friday after the San Jose Sharks tabbed Misa with the second pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. The New York Islanders had the first pick and used it on Erie defenseman Matthew Schaefer, and San Jose jumped on Misa to give the OHL the top two picks in the 2025 draft.
