The Environment Agency (EA) has issued eight flood warnings across the county. Yellow weather warnings for rain are in place for Thursday and Friday across most of England, which the Met Office has said could lead to difficult driving conditions.

An amber warning has been issued for areas of the Midlands and the south of the country, which came into force at 6pm and will last for 12 hours.

Tornado warnings have been issued for parts of England, with heavy rain and flooding expected across the country.
