Now, more than 80 years later, the Edsall has been found at the bottom of the Indian Ocean. The Royal Australian Navy discovered the vessel on the seafloor roughly 200 miles east of Christmas Island,

The USS Esdall, a 314-foot destroyer sunk by Japanese forces in 1942, was known as "the dancing mouse" for its ability to evade attacks.

The Royal Australian Navy announced this week it has discovered the wreckage of the World War II destroyer USS Edsall in the Indian Ocean.
