New images show ‘gravity waves’ rippling through the sky from Hurricane Helene
The graphic uses the colors red, yellow and red to show the change in radiance or brightness in the wavelength of light produced by atmospheric airflow on Earth, according to NASA. The most intense waves seen from Helene in the upper atmosphere can be found by looking for the redder the color viewed in the image.
