Suspect charged in Birmingham shooting that killed one man, injured another
A suspect has been charged in a Birmingham shooting that killed one man and injured another. Andrew Blake Carter, 37, is charged with murder in the Oct. 30 slaying of 38-year-old Melvin Anthony Burkes, according to court records made public Tuesday. He is also charged with attempted murder for the injury to the surviving victim.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT) — A shooting near Woodlawn High School left one person injured Tuesday night. According to Birmingham police, the victim, unidentified, and another person were leaving a basketball game when someone opened fire. The victim is in critical condition.
