Canucks Call Up Jonathan Lekkerimaki, Send Down Arturs Silovs
After getting blown out by the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday 7-3, the Vancouver Canucks announced a few roster moves on Sunday. The biggest one is the long-awaited recall of top prospect Jonathan Lekkerimaki from the American Hockey League (AHL).
Canucks' Jonathan Lekkerimaki: Summoned from AHL
Lekkerimaki was recalled from AHL Abbotsford on Sunday. Lekkerimaki has five goals and two assists in seven AHL outings this season. With Brock Boeser (upper body) out indefinitely, the 20-year-old Lekkerimaki could make his NHL debut in a top-six role versus Calgary on Tuesday.
Vancouver Canucks Recall Lekkerimaki & Young, Reassign Three Players
The Vancouver Canucks have recalled forward Jonathan Lekkerimaki and goaltender Ty Young from the Abbotsford Canucks, the team announced Sunday. In a corresponding move, forwards Nils Aman and Arshdeep Bains as well as goaltender Arturs Silovs were assigned to the AHL.

The team announced Sunday that they had recalled Jonathan Lekkerimaki, as well as goalie Ty Young, from AHL Abbotsford. In a corresponding move, the Canucks assigned goaltender Arturs Silovs and forwards Arshdeep Bains and Nils Aman to the AHL.
Canucks' Arshdeep Bains: Summoned from AHL
Bains was recalled from AHL Abbotsford on Tuesday. Bains has one goal, five shots on net, five blocked shots and 12 hits in seven NHL appearances this season. He will occupy a bottom-six role in Tuesday's matchup against Calgary due to the absences of Brock Boeser (upper body) and Dakota Joshua (groin).
