The first day of the Miramar Air Show drew thousands to watch incredible performances, explore vintage aircraft, and try out simulators.

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — It’s a familiar deafening sound that makes you plug your ears. The iconic Blue Angels went into the skies Friday for the first day of the Miramar Air Show. “They are amazing at going up and doing these crazy stunts,” said Josh Dill. Dill said he loves all of the aircraft but was particularly excited to see the Blue Angels.

The Miramar Air Show returns for the entire weekend of Sept. 27-29 at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, bringing aerial solo acts, military demonstration teams, vintage aircraft, warbirds, and more to the public for free.

Families gathered at MCAS Miramar on a brisk Saturday morning for the annual air show. Miami avoided a massive upset thanks to a controversial overturned call on the final play of the game. Poor Makari Vickers had no idea what was coming.
