Suspect Yolanda Marodi fatally stabbed her spouse of two years, Cal Fire Capt. Rebecca "Becky" Marodi, according to police. Fran George, a friend of Rebecca Marodi, joins "Banfield" to discuss.

New details have emerged as the San Diego County Superior Court has issued an arrest warrant for Yolanda Marodi, the wife of Cal Fire Captain Rebecca Marodi, who was killed at her home on Feb. 17. According to the arrest warrant, approximately one week before the incident, Rebecca told Yolanda that she was leaving her and ending their marriage.

As the investigation continues, CAL FIRE San Diego has initiated efforts to provide financial support to the Marodi family through the CAL FIRE Benevolent Fund.

Rebecca Marodi, 49, died after suffering several stab wounds last week. Investigators identified her wife as a suspect.

Authorities asked for help Monday to find an ex-con suspected of killing her wife, a veteran state firefighter, at the victim’s Ramona home — more than 20 years after pleading guilty in the slaying of her estranged husband.

Officials believe she may have fled to Mexico driving a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox with California license plate "8BQJ420."
