Iran’s new president is signaling to world leaders that he wants to open what he's calling a “constructive” chapter in his country’s international relations.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told global leaders that Israel’s ramped-up attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon “cannot go unanswered” during his first address to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday afternoon.

President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran – which backs Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza – called for stopping Israel's "insane barbarism in Lebanon before it sets the region and the world on fire" during his speech at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday.
