Under the deal, the US will lower its tariff on Chinese imports from 145 per cent to 30 per cent and China will reduce its tariff on US goods from 125 per cent to 10 per cent.

Now, everything is up in the air again following a breakthrough in U.S.-China trade talks that resulted in a 90-day reprieve from the astoundingly high tariffs on China, leaving a base 30% import tax rate for made-in-China products.

China on Wednesday paused some non-tariff measures taken against 17 U.S. entities put on its unreliable entity list in April and 28 U.S. entities on its export control list, the commerce ministry said.
