The New York Jets interviewed Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith and Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik for their head coach position Thursday. The meetings with Smith and Slowik gave the Jets 12 known candidates with whom they've spoken about their vacancy.

Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith interviewed for the Jets’ head coaching vacancy on Thursday. Smith is considered a name to watch for the Jets. They have some history. Smith interviewed twice with the Jets in 2021 for their head coaching position that went to Robert Saleh. Smith was hired as the Falcons head coach that year.

Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik's head coaching interview with the Jets is in the books. Slowik met with the Jets remotely on Thursday and the team announced the completion of the interview in the afternoon.
