Apple's iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max have a few new features ready to roll for 2024 -- but are they enough to convince you to upgrade?

The new lineup of Apple iPhone 16 smartphones is officially available from AT&T, Verizon, Best Buy and many more retailers. These new phones include the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

While there’s no doubt that the pricier Pro models of the iPhone 16 series are better, with improved and larger displays, a third camera, that gorgeous titanium build and more, this year’s iPhone has a lot in common with the Pro. To the extent that for many people, the Pro adds bells and whistles they can manage without.

The iPhone 16 Pro starts at $999 with 128GB of storage and is available in four shades of titanium: black, natural, desert, and silver. It's joined by the iPhone 16 starting at $799 and the iPhone Pro Max at $1,199.

The $999 iPhone 16 Pro and $1,199 iPhone 16 Pro Max have everything we've come to expect in a year-over-year upgrade. They lack Apple Intelligence at launch but make up for it in other ways.

Apple introduced the Action Button to the iPhone 15 Pro and leaned hard into its use as a button to take pictures. This year, though, the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro both have a new dedicated Camera Control button.
