Governor Ron DeSantis announced Wednesday that Florida law enforcement agencies will enter into additional Memoranda of Agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to enhance the state’s ability to enforce federal immigration laws.

In another sweeping immigration change, more Florida agencies are joining the fight against undocumented immigrants who are not legally in the country.

DeSantis has called for casting a broader net. Earlier this month, DeSantis announced a new agreement between U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Florida Highway Patrol that expands state officers' ability to interrogate, arrest and detain immigrants and carry out "street-level enforcement."
