In the city known for its wings, two Sabres sizzled on Tuesday night. Tage Thompson and JJ Peterka both scored hat tricks as Buffalo’s top-line wingers led the charge back from an early deficit to beat the Bruins 7-2 in opening a four-game homestand at KeyBank Center.

Tage Thompson and JJ Peterka each recorded a hat trick and an assist to lead the Buffalo Sabres to a 7-2 win over the visiting Boston Bruins on Tuesday. Thompson scored in each period en route to his seventh career hat trick and first of the season,

The Bruins took a short-lived 1-0 lead on Mason Lohrei’s goal in the first period, but the Sabres rattled off the next four goals to ice it.
