Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell resigned on Tuesday morning to take a position with the Trump administration as the Region 6 advocate for the U.S. Small Business Administration's office of advocacy. The region covers the states of New Mexico, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.

He's accepted a position with the U.S. Small Business Administration, a federal agency that provides support to small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell resigned Tuesday to take a position with the Trump administration. Gravell made the announcement shortly before the county's regular scheduled Commissioners Court meeting. Afterwards, he was sworn into his new position by 425th District Judge Betsy Lambeth.

A special session will be held Friday to accept Gravell's resignation and to discuss appointing a new county judge.
