Over the past couple of years, there have been several wrestlers from the WWE main roster who have made an appearance on NXT. Stars such as John Cena, Cody Rhodes, and WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker have all appeared on the White and Gold Brand.

Trick Williams is excited about CM Punk‘s involvement with NXT. Punk will be the special referee for the NXT Championship match between Trick Williams and Ethan Page on the October 1 episode of WWE NXT.

Ahead of his title opportunity, Williams commented on "NXT's" move to The CW on "Busted Open Radio," where he explained how important it is for the brand to be on the network, and shared how excited he is to see "NXT" included with the several major sports packages also coming to The CW.

Williams would eventually become the most popular star in NXT. Crowds gravitated to Williams and his signature slogan, whoop that trick. Williams would eventually reach the pinnacle in NXT, defeating Ilja Dragunov to become NXT champion.

CM Punk made an appearance on the final episode of WWE NXT, sending a message to Ethan Page and Trick Williams. Next week, NXT will begin its new era on The CW network. WWE has already booked matches and appearances for the show.

CM Punk has made multiple trips to the WWE Performance Center and NXT since he returned to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, whether it's been to rehab from injury or appear on television. Punk is set to serve as the special guest referee for the NXT Title bout between Trick Williams and Ethan Page on the October 1st episode of NXT.

After being a part of the USA Network from 2019 to 2024, NXT will finally be leaving the network. Last night was NXT’s final episode on the USA Network. The show will be moving to the CW Network starting October 1.
