Breaking: The San Diego County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deputy-involved shooting in the 900 block of Leland Street in Spring Valley, and is advising the public to avoid the area at this time.

San Diego police are investigating after a man was killed in a shootout with sheriff's deputies in Spring Valley on Friday afternoon. Deputies with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department responded to a trespassing complaint in the 900 block of Leland Street at around 3:30 p.

The public was asked to avoid the area until further notice. The San Diego Police Department was called in to investigate the gunfire under terms of a countywide agreement designed to prevent conflicts of interest.

Deputies emphasized that there was no active danger to the community; however, they warned the public to avoid the 900 block of Leland St.
