A state review board next month will consider defeated Pee Dee senator Gerald Malloy’s request for a new election. The election commission’s Board of Canvassers is set to meet at 10 a.m. on Dec. 3 in Columbia.

Now that the 2024 election is over, South Carolina next statewide election will take place in 2026 with all of the state’s constitutional officers on the ballot as well as a U.S. Senate seat. The highest profile contest will probably be for governor as Gov. Henry McMaster can’t run for reelection because of term limits.
