Vancouver police say one person was taken into custody as part of a hate crimes investigation after a search warrant was executed at a home in the 1800 block of East First Avenue near Victoria Drive.That person has now been released pending completion of the investigation,

Neighbours awoke to the sound of a "bang" and saw an armoured police vehicle and heavily armed members of the Vancouver Police Department's Emergency Response Team.

Police say that one person was taken into custody then released “pending completion of the investigation,” which is being conducted under a section of the Criminal Code on inciting hatred. The person was not named by police,
