King Charles and Keir Starmer welcomed Qatar's emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for a state visit to Britain on Tuesday that the prime minister hopes will help build on the Gulf state's investment in the country.

Qatar's emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani was treated to a royal carriage procession and a lavish state banquet on the first day of his state visit to Britain Tuesday.

And this evening, King Charles said his State Visit to the UK “might be seen as a homecoming,” adding, “Your many visits since then have served as a testament to the close personal ties that bind our nations and our families.
