Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith is expected to be a head coaching candidate for NFL teams in the offseason, according to the Athletic’s Dianna Russini. This comes on the heels of Smith’s interest in the University of North Carolina head coaching job, which is his alma mater.

North Carolina decided to fire legendary head coach Mack Brown after 6 seasons at the helm in his 2nd tenure in Chapel Hill. Following that move, the Tar Heels have already begun a search for their new HC.

Arthur Smith said that his alma mater North Carolina "reached out" to him, but that his focus is on "one of the best jobs in football" with Steelers.
