The Flames were without captain Michael Backlund in the game, out week-to-week with an upper body injury, and young forward Connor Zary, who was serving the first of a two-game suspension. Dustin Wolf got the start for the Flames, making 24 saves on the night.

Toronto should also get plenty of power-play opportunities tonight, as the Flames are the third most penalized team in the NHL per 60 minutes of play, averaging four penalties per game. That's also been costly for Calgary this season as its PK ranks 26th in the league with just a 75% kill rate.
