Users can install the software on other Apple devices, including other iPad models, just not the premium M4. Speaking to MacRumors, an Apple representative said, "We have temporarily removed the ‌iPadOS 18‌ update for M4 ‌iPad Pro‌ models as we work to resolve an issue that is impacting a small number of devices."

While Apple’s move has left some M4 iPad Pro owners in limbo, the good news is that Apple has told Authorized Service Providers (AASPs) that it’s actively working on fixing the issue.

Apple has pulled the iPadOS 18 update for the M4 iPad Pros after it bricked some of the tablets, MacRumors reports. Apple began rolling out iPadOS 18 to eligible devices on Sept. 16, but users on Reddit and Apple Discussions soon complained about their iPads not turning back on after the update.

Reddit user “Lisegot” says the iOS 18 update bricked his 11-inch M4 iPad Pro. He immediately took off work to go to the Apple Store for a replacement. The Apple Store did not have his model in stock, so he had to wait 5 to 7 days for a replacement.

Apple launched the new iPad Pro model this year which has the new M-series chipset but the new iPadOS might not be acting well on the new device.
