SAN JOSE – The San Jose Sharks placed little-used forward Givani Smith on waivers on Sunday. Smith has zero points in just six games this season. His last game came on Nov. 25, when he had 6:42 of ice time against the Los Angeles Kings.
Avalanche Acquire Blackwood, Smith From San Jose
The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today the team has acquired goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood, forward Givani Smith and a fifth-round draft pick in the 2027 NHL Draft from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for goaltender Alexandar Georgiev, forward Nikolai Kovalenko, a 2025 fifth-round draft pick and a 2026 second-round pick.
