Insured losses from Storm Bert in Britain will reach between 250 million and 350 million pounds ($442 million), largely linked to claims from the flooding of residential homes, PwC estimated on Wednesday.

More rain is due to fall on Tuesday and Wednesday in southern England and south Wales, where flooding and high winds from Storm Bert have caused major disruption to homes, roads and rail networks.

Torrential rain doused most of the country, stymying travel and leading to flooding, landslides, fallen trees and power outages.

Storm Bert left a trail of disruption across the UK, with hundreds of flood warnings in place for Wales and the west of England.

More flooding is “likely” this week after Storm Bert brought torrential rain over the weekend, the Environment Secretary said. Steve Reed said its impacts “should be less severe” than they were on Sunday and Monday morning.

Heavy weekend rain and strong winds brought in by Storm Bert caused widespread flooding and travel disruptions across Britain and Ireland, and killed at least three people in England and Wales.

Major travel delays were reported across the United Kingdom on Monday after Storm Bert brought wind, floods, ice and snow over the weekend.
