Hurricane Helene has weakened to a Tropical Storm over Georgia with maximum sustained winds of 70 mph (110 kph), the National Hurricane Center said.

Georgians are feeling major impacts Friday morning from Hurricane Helene as it swept rapidly across Georgia during the overnight hours. The storm left many in south Georgia with damage and without power and it continues to impact the north half of the state.

The storm has created devastating storm surge along Florida's west coast after making landfall as a Category 4.
