The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down Tuesday afternoon in Preble County. NWS says based on damage reports, photographs and radar data, a weak tornado is confirmed to have touched late Tuesday afternoon.

The showers and wind from the storm are expected to arrive in northern Ohio by around 5 p.m. Friday. This will likely mean a breezy and perhaps wet night for high school football across northern Ohio. Wind gusts as high as 30 miles per hour are possible on Friday.

Hurricane Helene is expected to have been downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it reaches Ohio Friday night or early Saturday.
