Union Minister Nitin Gadkari admitted in the Lok Sabha that road accident rates have increased under his tenure, despite his initial pledge to reduce them by 50%.

Nitin Gadkari said that for things to improve, human behaviour in India has to change, society has to change, and the rule of law has to be respected.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in Parliament said he has no hesitation in accepting that road accidents numbers have increased in the country. Speaking in Lok Sabha during the Winter Session,

The government is developing infrastructure of international standards, he said, adding that water, power, transport and communication are four sectors where the government is giving the highest priority for development.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari projects India's logistics cost to fall to 9% in two years. This reduction aims to enhance global competitiveness. Current logistics costs are 14-16%, compared to 8% in China and 12% in the US and Europe.
