The desired outcome for the Pittsburgh Steelers is that former NFL Defensive Player of the Year T.J. Watt finishes out his career as a Steeler. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the two sides aren't closer to a deal, and Watt is not happy with his current standing with the team.

Despite his desire for a new contract, there is reportedly not an expectation within the NFL that the Pittsburgh Steelers will trade superstar pass-rusher T.J. Watt.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the Steelers have no intention of trading Watt and their focus remains on extending the seven-time Pro Bowler’s contract. With the numbers Watt has been able to put up in the last few seasons for the Steelers, it makes sense why they would do everything they can to hold on to the talented pass rusher.
