Indian Mahindra and Mahindra on Tuesday said it is in talks to resolve a dispute with the country's biggest airline IndiGo which has filed a court challenge against the use of its call sign "6e" in the automaker's new electric vehicle offering.

IndiGo has used '6E' for various passenger services, including 6E Prime, 6E Flex, and 6E Add-ons. In 2015, the airline registered the trademark '6E Link' across multiple classes.

The newly launched Mahindra XEV 9e and Mahindra BE 6e electric SUVs will compete with rivals such as Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, Hyundai Kona Electric etc. Also, Mahindra claims that with these two electric SUVs, the carmaker aims to challenge the luxury electric cars which are available in India at a price bracket of ₹ 70-80 lakh.
