Captains Rohit Sharma and Najmul Hossain Shanto may look to play with a spin-heavy attack at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur.

The upcoming 2nd Test between India and Bangladesh at Kanpur 's Green Park Stadium has hit a snag. The Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) has declared one of the stands, Balcony C, as potentially hazardous due to structural concerns.

Bangladesh Test, PWD has declared a stand at Green Park Stadium unsafe, allowing only 1,700 out of 4,800 seats in Balcony C to be sold. Officials warned that the stand may collapse under crowd weight and requires immediate repairs.

A PWD engineer said that Green Park Stadium in Kanpur is in ‘dire need of repair’ and allowing fans in Balcony C can be dangerous.

India and Bangladesh are set to face each other in the second and final Test of the two-match series at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. This is kind of a comeback at the venue for Rohit and Kohli as the duo last played a Test here in 2016 while they featured in an ODI in 2017.

One of the stands at Kanpur's historic venue has been deemed 'dangerous' by Uttar Pradesh's Public Works Department and out of 4800 seats there, only 1,700 will go on sale.

While some of the big names will be part of the Mumbai and Rest of India squad for the Irani Trophy 2024, two big names missing from the squads are Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Rohit Sharma was eligible to be picked for Mumbai while Virat Kohli could have been selected for the Rest of India squad.

Green Park was among the host venues for when England toured India for the first time since the country gained independence from the British Raj in 1951/52, hosting its first international match from January 12 to 14,
